I can’t tell you all how nerve-wracking it was sharing that information with you all, last week.
Like I stated previously, we are so private with our personal lives – to drop that was just very foreign to me. However! The responses that I received from you all were just very heartwarming – and truly reminded me why we chose those orders, in the first place. So, THANK YOU for getting me through my week! I felt you all.
I’m still working through the fatigue, but with recent doctors appointments…I feel like I will be back on track, in no time.
As a warning, we DO run the chance of these orders being pulled. But, with us being so incredibly close to leaving…we have the confidence to make our plans and share it with you. Honestly, I won’t really believe this is all happening until the movers come and/or I step on Middle Eastern soil.
There were some of you that had some concerns over the safety of that area.
Hopefully this eases your minds:
– For a Middle Eastern country, Bahrain is fairly liberal. Women are able to drive and not required to dress in headwear. I will be able to wear pants and shorts, but those will need to stay at my knees and my backside covered while wearing yoga pants (who really wants to see that uncovered, though? Lol). Mosques, however, are a different story; to which, I can’t wait to pull on the clothing and fully immerse myself!
– It is very safe for me to walk the markets and such, alone. A comment on the internet said that she feels more safe on the streets of Bahrain than she does home, in Virginia. This brought me a lot of peace…but really made me want to leave the South. LOL!
– If you’re worried about conflict in the surrounding areas, please remember that families do not accompany in dangerous territories. They take very good care of the members and their dependents. From what I hear, the overseas community is tight knit – so, while I plan to roam alone, quite a bit…I expect I will enjoy my new extended family. Can you tell, I’m not the most sociable person? haha.
Well, I think that is it! I have an upcoming trip to Utah, to document a wedding. I know there will be a lot of writing, while traveling to SLC and back. Expect to hear more, soon.
